SpUUky Day Con!

Your YRUUP Council is so excited to announce that the next event for YRUUP will be a one-day event, similar to ReUUnion Day, from 12 pm to 6 pm on Saturday, October 23, 2021! It will be at Elk Grove Regional Park in the Sacramento area. The address is 9950 Elk Grove Florin Road, Elk Grove, CA 95624. We have picnic sites 5C and 6A. This event is completely free for attendees, and there is no parking fee; however, as always, donations are very much appreciated as this event is not free to host.

A carpool form is linked below. Please fill it out if you are looking for a ride or are able to give one, and we will coordinate accordingly to the best of our ability.

Attendees will be required to be masked, fully vaccinated, and socially distanced. Testing is also encouraged but proof will not be mandated nor collected.

We also ask that you please bring any food and water that you would like to have during the duration of the event. We will not be offering communal food for this event to stay safe from COVID-19, and drinking water is not readily available. Additionally, this event will be entirely outdoors, so definitely wear sunscreen and comfortable closed-toe shoes.

Please register as soon as possible using the linked form. Registration will close on Wednesday, October 20th, at 11:59 pm.

Halloween costumes are encouraged! We can’t wait to see everyone!

YRUUP: Fun Sized!

Hello YRUUP Community!

YRUUP Council is planning a one-day event in lieu of Summer Con! Because it is not an overnight con, we are excited to announce that we are able to invite anyone who has aged out between February 2020 and the day of the event, in addition to our normal attendance pool.

It will take place this Saturday, August 14th, from noon to 6 pm at Paradise Beach Park in Marin County. We have a reservation for area 7 and will use the expansive lawn for large and small group games and activities. The exact address is as follows: 3450 Paradise Dr, Tiburon, CA 94920.

This event is free, but there is a $5 parking fee. The park warns that parking is “extremely limited,” so plan for carpools or drop-off if you can. As always, donations are very much appreciated as this event is not free to host.

Registration will close on Thursday, August 12th, at 11:59 pm.

Thank you so much for sticking with us through this process. We are immensely looking forward to seeing everybody!

Summer Con 2021 is cancelled

Summer Con 2021 is cancelled

YRUUP is extremely saddened to announce that Summer Con is cancelled due to rising rates of COVID all around California but especially Humboldt County.

Summer Con & COVID-19

Summer Con is from August 13th to 15th! We are so excited to be able to finally plan and host an event again, now that we have adequate safety procedures against COVID-19. The safety of the YRUUP community is always Council's number one concern, and so this decision was not taken lightly. We had to consider multiple factors, and we wanted to explain our thought process behind what precautions we will be taking!

  • Vaccinations

All attendees must be fully vaccinated. This means everyone must have received their second dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine or their first/only dose of the Johnson and Johnson vaccine by July 29th. In California, we are very lucky to have easy access to vaccines for COVID-19! According to the CDC, the Pfizer vaccine is 95% effective, the Moderna vaccine is 94.1% effective, and the Johnson and Johnson vaccine is 66.3% effective. While you can still contract and spread covid with any of the vaccines, the likelihood is much lower. If you do contract it while vaccinated, you will most likely experience decreased symptoms or none at all.

  • Covid testing

Prior to attending Summer con, all attendees must show proof of a negative covid test. Attendees may start getting covid tested no earlier than August 4th. They must send us their results by August 11th. After the event, all attendees are mandated to get another COVID-19 test and send in their results. Rapid tests will NOT be accepted. If you need help finding a location to get tested, refer to the helpful resources section. If anyone is positive, this will allow us to respond to protect our community and all of our loved ones. This is an integral part of returning to in-person events safely while still honouring our culture of consent, so violations will be taken seriously.

  • Registration

Registration will be changing slightly to adjust with our new safety process. Registration closes on August 4th, there will be no late registration. We will still have our early-bird discount through July 9th. Knowing how many attendees we will have is essential to hosting in-person events, so please register early!

  • Masks and social distancing

All of our attendees will be fully vaccinated and must have recently tested negative for COVID-19, so masks and social distancing will not be required. We encourage everyone to do what makes them feel safe, so if you feel safer wearing a mask you may of course do so. Due to space limitations, 6-feet social distancing may be unrealistic. If that will make you feel unsafe, you should consider whether or not you want to attend this event.

  • Wink

Council has not had sufficient time to discuss whether we will play wink at this event. A decision will be made by our next council meeting on July 11th.

Registration Link: https://forms.gle/PHk28iBGTU7DS9Uu8

YRUUP Council is working hard to secure a location for this event, however due to COVID-19 this conference is subject to cancellation along with date changes. Thank you for bearing with us as we really want to put on this event for the community, but COVID safety comes first.

The event is currently scheduled for the weekend of August 13th at 7pm, through August 15th at 2 pm.

YRUUP is requiring all conference attendees to be fully vaccinated by the time of the event and will be requesting proof of vaccination in the registration form. You must have both doses of a two-dose vaccine (Pfizer or Moderna) or one dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine by July 29th.

Prior to attending Summer con, all attendees must show proof of a negative covid test. Attendees may start getting covid tested no earlier than August 4th. You must send us your results by August 11th. After the event, all attendees are mandated to get another COVID-19 test and send in their results. Rapid at tests will NOT be accepted.

WUUKY 2020 (Canceled)

Hello Beloved Community Members,

On behalf of YRUUP Council, we hope everyone is faring well in quarantine and staying safe.

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the cancellation of WUUKY 2020. This is due to the Mendocino Woodlands’ efforts to help curb the spread of Covid-19, as well as our organization’s  acceptance of their decision to cancel summer events. We will not seek an alternate campground.

This decision is a safety precaution and was made with the best interest of the YRUUP community in mind. We miss you all dearly and are sorely disappointed that Spirit Con and Wuuky will not happen this year.

In the meantime, we encourage everyone to stay informed and safe by listening to your local law enforcement.

NCCUUCC Thanks Camp 2019

Camp Sylvester 28770 Dodge Ridge Rd Pinecrest, CA 95364

Whether you gather friends, creativity, or just plain good times, this will be an excellent chance to gather and share! This will be our eighth incarnation of Thanksgiving Camp but NCUUCC’s third time at Camp Sylvester.

thankscamp.jpg

The facility was built in 1927 and is an historic camp owned by the Stanislau County Farm Bureau. Nestled between Pinecrest Lake and Dodge Ridge ski resort, Camp Sylvester is an ideal setting for our Thanks Camp. The camp has updated cabins with heat, electricity and a few even have in-cabin showers/bathrooms. Each cabin sleeps between 8 and 13 people. The recreation halls sprawl over nearly ten acres of the Stanislaus National Forest. It has an excellent kitchen to create our exquisite meals and and seating for 200 in a new dining hall. Camp Sylvester provides the fresh air, green pines and excitement of an outdoor adventure with all of the comforts of a rustic resort.

ACTIVITIES: Karaoke night, dance party, puzzle/game night, a gift exchange, holiday caroling and various art activities, as well as an evening story time for adults and children. Beading/jewelry-making for kids and adults will be happening, too. Want to share a special talent? Tell a Dean and organize your own workshop. We will have a pre-Thanksgiving dinner worship service in the dining hall. Want to lead a morning worship service? Volunteer (and tell a Dean!). Campers often bring musical instruments. Drumming anyone? More information and specifics will be forthcoming as we get closer to the date.

Thursday is an arrival day and the first official meal is Thursday Dinner. To accommodate folks who have other obligations on Thanksgiving Day, we have our Feast on Friday.
